Corporate Culture

How we work when nobody is checking.

Four values, one working rhythm, and a team organised around the outcome rather than the department.

Culture is a set of habits, not a wall of values. What follows is what we actually do on a normal week: how we decide, how we write, how we handle a mistake, and how the people who build our mobile management apps fit into the same operation as the people who sign for a shipment. If you are evaluating us as a counterparty or as a candidate, this page is the honest version.

Mission

Our mission

To make cross-border business administration predictable for companies that do not have a Hong Kong presence. We take the coordination, documentation and follow-up that normally sits in an expensive local office and make it a service with a fixed scope, a named owner and a written record.

Vision

Our vision

A market in which the administrative layer around international trade is as professionally run as the commercial layer. We think that means fewer things lost in transit, fewer certificates discovered after the fact, and fewer counterparties nobody can find. Our mobile management apps are part of that ambition: the same discipline we apply in person, available on a phone in a warehouse.

Values

Four things we actually do

Each of these is written as a behaviour rather than a slogan, because a value you cannot observe in the work is not a value. Each one has an animal attached to it, which is a habit this office started and never had the heart to stop.

Value 01

Plain Answers, Early

We would rather send you an incomplete view than a polished silence. Early in every engagement you get a written position on what we think is happening and what we would check next, clearly labelled as provisional. Holding back a half-formed read in order to sound certain is a small deception, and in cross-border work it compounds. It is also just slower. If we do not know something yet, we will say that we do not know it yet — and then go and find out.

Value 02

Ownership Down to the Pallet

If it is within the part of the chain we were handed, it is ours — including the parts that went wrong. We do not pass responsibility back to you by pointing at a carrier, a customs broker or an agent. When something stalls, you will hear the position from us first, along with the options and our recommendation. We accept that this sometimes means we are the one explaining a delay we did not personally cause. That is what taking responsibility means in practice.

Value 03

Respect for Your Time

We work to a schedule you set, and we honour it. Updates are written, dated and specific, so you can read them in five minutes instead of joining a call to be told something you could have skimmed. We avoid unnecessary meetings, we do not pad status reports to look busy, and when we have nothing to report we say so briefly rather than manufacturing an update. Being easy to work with is not a soft extra; on a multi-party international project it is what makes the project move.

Value 04

Curiosity About How Things Actually Work

We ask what happens downstream, not just what is written upstream. Who signs for the container, which certificate actually gets checked, which of the two prices is the one your customer sees. This habit comes from the app side of the business: we build software that mirrors how a real process runs, including the parts the process owners would rather not think about. That same curiosity keeps us out of the expensive category of surprises.

How we work

The working rhythm

Four habits, applied consistently across client work and internal product work.

A team member writing up decisions from a working session

We work across time zones with European and American clients, and we build our working calendar around their business day rather than ours. In-person meetings are possible, but most of our engagement is written and asynchronous — which suits the subject matter better than it might appear.

The team behind the work

Four functional lines, one operation

We organise around the work rather than around a departmental chart, and we keep the team small enough that the people you meet are the people who do the work. Four functional lines cover everything on the Business Services page, including the mobile management apps.

01

Client & engagement lead

Owns the commercial relationship and the plan. Holds the scope, chairs the cadence, and is the single point of contact from first conversation to final handover. Everything you are promised comes through this role.

02

Trade operations & supply chain

Runs suppliers, shipments, customs routing and documentation. Knows which exceptions are normal for a lane and which ones need escalation before they become delays.

03

Compliance & risk

Reviews specifications, certificates, agency arrangements and regulatory requirements. Signs off on the paperwork before it leaves, and flags the requirement you did not know existed.

Builds and runs the mobile management modules on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and keeps the data handling behind them aligned with the published Privacy Policy.

Questions

The things candidates and counterparties ask

Our office is in Hong Kong. We work across time zones with European and American clients and we build our working calendar around their business day rather than ours. In-person meetings are possible, but most of our engagement is written and asynchronous — which suits the subject matter better than it might appear.

Every workstream has one named owner, every decision is written down, and every engagement ends with a documented handover. The process, not the individual, is what carries the standard. We also review live engagements periodically and adjust the plan while it is still cheap to adjust.

Yes. The digital and product function that appears in our team section builds and maintains the mobile management apps we publish on Google Play and the Apple App Store. They are the same team's work as the advisory and operational services, which is why they follow the same process and the same data handling rules.

We take conflicts seriously and check for them before accepting an engagement. Where we cannot serve both parties on the same matter, we will say so at the start rather than discover it later. Confidentiality terms in our Terms of Service set out how we handle this.

Work with us

Work with us, or work for us.

We are always interested in counterparties who are precise about what they do, and in people who are. If either describes you, introduce yourself.
